FM 89 - A Musical Night at Alliance Franaise

The discussion goes about from school/college's cafe tables to comfortable indoor lounges, business meeting to drama industry whether our new generation is capable of doing what is being hoped from them ??? The strong and weak throw of arguments oscillate the debate. But I am almost as certain as tomorrow's day that our new generation particularly our young lot is as skilled and trained as a diamond cutter.

Last Saturday i happened to attend a musical event called 'World Musical Day' hosted by City FM 89 in collaboration with Alliance Francaise Karachi.
FM 89 and Alliance Francaise Karachi celebrates World Music Day
'I am one of those guys who always sneak in quietly, just like a 'No One' entity. It helps me stay focused on my aim which is more often to observe every activity happening on the event, from security arrangements to foreign guests presence, from local media to active management. The clearer the sight the better it helps to portrait the things accurately.'

As i proceeded after getting through the security scanning my eyes caught a live playing music band, those lads were between 20-23 years of age, but playing their respective equipments as masterly as one could imagine. I liked the music and the song they were playing. Their performance ended on huge applause and cheers initiated by myself.
Btw not to forget my hosts were Faryal Farooq and Mr. Ali. I didnt know them by face by i could feel and sense their presence around.

I spent like good two hours on the event, mix of lulled and hard rock music was the major cause of stay. The young bands, four in number, played their best of the best, one could see how sincerely they had tried and how good they were playing their fingers on the sensitive codes. I knew except the few the audience was not much impressed, neither was i, but the sense of commitment and as i mentioned earlier the efforts they were putting up was something you would loudly cheer up ! And at some point i literally felt as the band needed an appreciation more than just cheers and applause!

Those four bands were the talented young musicians, Shajie, Sikanda ka Mandar, Capa, Dynoman, Nuts n Bolts all still young, but you could predict easily few more years under the same sun and they would be our new celebrities.

'Such are the clear signs which do not let my hopes extinguish that your new generation is talented, hardworking and equally competent if compared with talent abroad'.

This was the musical side of the event. Let me say few words about the management of the event.

The event was doubtlessly arranged and complied with required codes and procedures. For instance, sending an invitation for the event, the timely share of cancellation information, then the follow ups, and again the reconfirmation emails.

The purpose of telling these sequels is that people should know that how dependable our new generation is, how professional they are in their work approach, and how dedicated they are in performing their duties and responsibilities. To me the event was more than just an event, it was a clear message to the world,  'Dont underestimate Us'.

This was the FM 89 team.

Speech by Bryan Dyson-CEO Coca Cola

30-seconds Speech by Bryan Dyson
(CEO of Coca Cola)

"Imagine life as a game in which you are juggling some 5 balls in air:

1.Work
2.Family
3.Health
4.Friends
5.Spirit

And you are keeping all of these in the air. You will soon understand that Work is a rubber ball. If u drop it, it will bounce back; but other 4 balls- Family, Health, Friends and Spirit- are made up of glass. If u drop one of these; they will irrevocably be scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged or even shattered. They will never be the same. U must understand that & strive for it."

Work smartly during office hours & leave on time. Give the desired time to your family, friends & have proper rest.

Remember "Value has a value only if its value is valued"

PSO Smart Card Launch Ceremony at DHA Golf Club Karachi

DHA Golf Club Karachi
Relatively calm, placid and peaceful Saturday evening in Karachi and a long drive to the DHA Golf Club. Looking around, sniffing and detecting the smell of perfumes and food my eyes wondering continuously for the event location.

As an early bird i was early before the time. "The advantage of going in time on a occasion or even few minutes early is, it gives you plenty of time to look around and see the things before and while in completion. Besides, your host will appreciate your time punctuality and you will gain a good ground.Another advantage is, an average human brain tends to take time to adapt to new atmosphere. His mind searches for quick information, i.e. type of people, entrance, type of function, atmosphere of the function etc, and all such data can not be obtained unless you have plenty of time to look around and observe things. And when you reach on time you have equipped yourself with all the the tools to go inside with tail up".

As Dr.Bruce Perry describes
"All learning is brain-based and Learning requires attention".

I looked around the magnificent arched and semi erected red carpet area, took a 360 round of the vicinity ( particularly the emergency exits )and my sense told me it was going to be a big launch ceremony.

"The good thing about corporate functions is you don't expect much delays in the ceremonies as most of the CEOz are well trained or raised under the strict rule of time management and time utilization. And as expected, at sharp 7:45 the CEO and MD PSO Mr. Naeem Yahya arrived and the function started officially.

Pictures clicked, greetings, briefing formalities, group photos, welcome drinks services and a good half an hour passed by.

Then the 'Gate to the City Walls' as the historians used to call in their manuscripts about a conqueror king who would return victorious from a long tiring expeditions, Convention Hall doors were opened and a sea of crowd entered peacefully.
Ahmed Butt and Ayesha Omer
Energetic Ahmed Butt and Gorgeous looking Ayesha Omer hosted the show with an electrically charged energy and soon the hall echoed with the applauds and laughters.

GM PSO Arif Naeem made the introductory speech and started with Bismillah and Salam greetings and brightened the path of PSO Smart Card Short History.
He threw light on the decade long endeavors and struggles of PSO Smart card. One interesting thing he mentioned rather proudly. GM Arif shared his conversation with another business man, who would ask him 'how many recovery men PSO had'? .... and GM said i told him that, we had none, our 27 ( only )Marketing Soldiers would do all the recovery job and amazingly we never had any recovery failure problem".
