Book Launch Of Kam Sukhan - Indus Valley School.

Talent is like a flowing water, it makes its way itself, no matter how hard you try to make it stagnant.

Indus Valley and NCA has produced hundreds of young and veteran artist for the country who have not only brighten up the name of their institutions but also of their country. Some of them even went that far that they made their impressions on world canvas.
Last night i witnessed the same talent, young, passionate and aspirant to explore the art of Success.Some of them were simple in their souls, though they had dressed themselves modern, but looking at their work and seeing into their eyes you could tell they had the soul of a real artist, shy yet sensitive and observant yet quiet. However no way you could get an impression that they were lacking the ingredients of a good and successful artist.

I tried communicating with each one of them, but i wasn't that lucky as most of them were away from their corners allotted to their work. Had i stolen few moments from their socializing engagements i would have been able to give a better picture of their work.

About the Exhibition :

[Karachi: 10 March 2013] This year, leading jewellery designer Kiran Aman commemorates nine years of her brand Kiran Fine Jewellery [KFJ]. To celebrate this, she revealed a photographic exhibition and launched the book ‘Kam Sukhan’ at Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture on the 09th of March 2013

With the ‘Kam Sukhan’ book launch and exhibition, Kiran Fine Jewellery celebrates nine years of adorning and embracing the essence of women in Pakistan through the extraordinary talents of nine photographers: Adeela Badshah, Farah Mahbub, Insiya Syed, Khaula Jamil, Lali Khalid, Mahwish Rizvi, Nazia Akram, Shalalae Jamil and Quratulain Khalid – almost all of whom were present at the launch event.

Defined by varied backgrounds and life experiences, through their work these nine photographic artists encapsulate all that KFJ seeks to celebrate; the delicacy that spins the fabric of a woman's strength; her warmth, tenderness, pride and passion.

The launch was opened with an introduction to the evening by Tuba Arshad, Creative Manager at Markings where she invited on stage photographer and project head at KFJ, Adeela Badshah who spoke about the nine women photographers and their experience and efforts on working on ‘Kam Sukhan’. This was followed by an address from the guest of honour for the evening, award winning model and actress, the multi-faceted Aamina Sheikh, who spoke about the beauty of womanhood, a woman's journey and how ‘Kam Sukhan’ encapsulates and celebrates this.

Also in attendance at the launch were fashion designers Feeha Jamshed, Nida Azwer, Misha Lakhani, Maheen Khan, Maheen Karim, Adnan Pardesy and Sadaf Malaterre; stylist Rukaiya Adamjee; photographers Amean J,Arif Mahmood, Fayyaz Ahmed, Kohi Marri and Tapu Javeri; TV personality Mahira Hafeez Khan and Saima Mohsin; Brands and External Communications Manager Unilever Pakistan Fareshteh Aslam; poet Faraz Maqsood Hamidi and key media personalities. Public Relations for the event was handled by Lotus.

On the launch of ‘Kam Sukhan’, publisher and jewellery designer Kiran Aman has said, “A woman’s soul carries her deepest glories. From her inhibitions, struggles, and fears, you’ll learn of patience, forbearance and resolve and in time you will find that her spirit, ever-undaunted, is a pearl made of steel. Indeed these nine years have been a celebration of women for me and my brand, and Kam Sukhan captures this essence of a woman and brings it forward tangibly through a book and photographic exhibition.”

The Exhibition featured the work of Nine young and veteran Artists. Arguably Farah Mahbub,s work was outstanding and was standing apart from the rest of her counterpart,s work. Then came young promising artist Mahwish Rizvi,s work. Mahwish,s work was based on the philosophy of loosing freedom. Her art depicted the world of those women who were forcible bent to perform certain duties. To the society those women were probably free and happy souls but internally they were unhappy, suppressed and persecuted women. Mahwish had shaken the world through her work that the real life was living with freedom and doing the work of her choice, finding the right piece of love and living a full life.

Adeela Badshah,a young and elegant lady. Adeela portrayed the character of those women who strongly fulfill their allotted duties without disturbing their real character. For instance, a woman was young, then she got little mature, then got married, then became a mother, then a more responsible woman concerned of her kids, then a elderly woman, and then an old woman, but during all phases she remained strong and adapted to each charter happily and was unshaken till the end.

The book Launch Ceremony :

The Book launch ceremony of Kam Sukhan was opened with introducing all nine artist and the ended on the written words and spoken by Amina Sheikh, which no one really understood the meaning. She was ill prepared to say something about the Book though.
