Playboy Club in Goa Controversy

The ever growing controversy of allowing a Playboy Club at Goa is once again in the news. This time the local of Goa govt. has plainly rejected the idea of allocating a corner the Playboy club. The Govt. says, such a step will promote vulgarity and profanity to the well in demand tourist site and may damage the image of the district.

Playboy Club in Goa Controversy.

Goa in India is the hub of Everything, staring from to beautiful bewitching sceneries to the deep waters of the sea, from drugs to human beauty, from women trafficking to clubs and parties. Allowing such moves will doubtless attract the tourist from around the world but at the same time it may devoid the pleasure to the general people of India.

Sushmita walks out after failed consesus over fee

Sushmita Sen.

Sushmita Sen, who is more often seen on the ramp than before the camera, turned her shapely back on the organisers of a fashion show after failing to arrive at a consensus over her appearance fee.

She had agreed to be the show stopper till last Monday, claim the organisers. But with just 48 hours to go for the show in support of women's empowerment and against child abuse, Sushmita refused to participate, forcing the organisers to look for a replacement in Yukta Mookheyinstead.

The organiser, Sadiq Memorial Society, run by Rifat Sadiq, granddaughter of GM Sadiq, first CM of Jammu & Kashmir, had been coordinating with two of Sushmita's staff members Tusna and Meghna for quite some time. After a round of negotiations, it was agreed that Sushmita would do the show for Rs 11 lakh and Rs 43,000 payable to her staff. According to Rifat, who has a string of SMSes to prove her point, Tusna and Meghna suddenly went incommunicado.

An agitated Rifat said, "Initially, we were told we will have to shell out Rs 15 lakh to Sushmita and Rs 50,000 to her staff. After some discussion, we finally agreed upon Rs 11 lakh and Rs 43,000 to her staff. After Meghna and Tusna exchanged several messages and calls asking us when we would be ready with the money, they suddenly stopped attending to our calls Tuesday onwards."

The girls remained unresponsive even when the organisers offered to hand over the money to Sushmita in person. Saying she has never had such an unpleasant experience in her 25 years in office, Rifat added Arjun Rampal, Dino Morea, Aditi Govitrikar, Malaika Arora and Noyonika Chatterjee have attended their programmes without charging a single penny. "Thank God, Yuktaagreed to do our show at the last minute," said Rifat.

When contacted, Tusna said tersely, "Why don't you speak to Meghna?" Meghna in turn said, "Yes, Sushmita is not doing the show. Why she is not doing it is nobody's business."

While we could not get in touch with Sushmita, her spokesperson said, "There is no question of backing out if one hasn't confirmed an appearance to begin with! We find random people throwing random figures completely irresponsible and distasteful. Ms Sen has never interacted with the organisers before and has no intention of doing so in future."

The showstopper

Kareena Kapoor launches her Book.

One statement piece is all an ensemble needs to look complete. These ladies show you how to achieve it in various ways Make-up, jewellery, shoes, belts and bags — many that are jazzy and over-the-top in terms of colour, structure or embellishment — are flying off the shelves. And that brings us to a faux pas that most are susceptible to — wearing too much at the same time.
Take some cues from recent celebrity appearances to decide how you'd like to make a statement at the next party you attend.
How to get it

1. Belts
The belt may have weighed a hefty 8 kg, but at least it saved Kareena Kapoor the trouble of wearing jewellery or carrying a glittery clutch to jazz up her
black dress.
2. Jewellery
Vidya Balan's been accused of sticking to saris and not changing it up at all, so she found a way to wear what she loves most, yet keep things interesting with a chunky Amrapali necklace. All Sonam Kapoorand Jacqueline Fernandez needed to elevate their single-tone dresses were quirky earrings. While the former went the Princess Leia way, the Sri Lankan beauty picked a bright, quirky pair.
3. Make-up
Make-up can be your statement too. Sonal Chauhan stuck to just red lipstick to light up her dull dress. If there was any jewellery with that bright shade, we'd be cringing.
4. Shoes
Manasi Scott knew better than to wear a busy dress, or worse, accessorise it. Those spiked booties won't share the limelight with anything.
5. Bold outfits
Print-on-print is a bold statement in itself, and Bandana Tewari played it right. No one's even looking at accessories with an ensemble like this.
How not to do it
Here's an example of overkill. Krishika Lulla's dress is sparkling by itself. She needed only one out of the belt, necklace and clutch — preferably in contrasting muted, matte shades — to balance her look. We'd recommend taking off either the belt or the necklace and going with an entirely different clutch that doesn't clash with the dress.

Bipasha Basu : Dubbing takes away real emotion

Bipasha Basu.

Actress Bipasha Basu has been busy dubbing for horror film Aatma, but she strongly feels that the process takes the real emotions away from scenes. "As an actor, I prefer sync sound to the process of dubbing! So much of the real emotion is so tough to recreate in the studio again," tweeted Bipasha.
She was happy about hopefully wrapping up the dubbing for Aatma Thursday.
"Been exhausting!" she added.

Emmran Hashmi updates : I do roles which others will hesitate to consider

Emraan Hashmi.

Actor Emraan Hashmi says he would rather play the character in his films than just be an actor.

Horror is here to stay
Actor Emraan Hashmi, on his first visit to Allahabad, attended the Kumbh Mela with Huma Qureshi and Ekta Kapoor. In Allahabad for the promotion of Ek Thi Daayan, a horror thriller, Emraan says horror as a genre is here to stay.

"Numbers go in favour of horror films. Raaz 3had a great opening and did great business. A huge chunk of the audience wants to come to theatres to get scared. The excitement is palpable in both comedy and horror, but is missing in drama. So, that's the reason I prefer horror over drama because the audiences reaction is immediate. Horror makes people jump out of their seats. There is a misconception about spooky films being dependent on special effects, but the best of horror films, right from The Exorcist to The Omen, never used special effects, though the visual effects in the form of makeup was there. In India, a film like Raaz3 has upped the bar in terms of visual effects in horror and Ek Thi Daayan will do it further. Horror is now part of mainstream cinema in India, which was not so till a few years back," he says.

Not comfortable with the familiar
Known for his association with the Bhatt camp, Emraan is now a regular in Ekta Kapoor's films. However, according to the actor, "Comfort zone kills an actor. The more uncomfortable you are, the better you act, the more cushy you get, the worse you get as an actor. I have seen it happening to myself. The films which I was comfortable doing and was confident about, did not fare well at the BO. Though repeating the people with whom I work, like for instance Ekta (Kapoor) with whom I have done three films, is more about sharing a rapport rather than being in a comfort zone. We have moved on from being cushy and comfortable because in each of the three films we have done together, whether it was Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai, The Dirty Picture and now Ek Thi Daayan, we have experimented with different genres," says Emraan.

Opposites attract
Emraan, who has worked in two films with Vidya Balan, both of which were women-centric films, says that playing second-fiddle has never crossed his mind. "I am an extremely secure actor and my career graph is not dependent on any one component of the film. I have the courage and conviction to work in a film which other stars may hesitate to be associated with. Though as an artiste, I would like to do biopics and especially films like The Aviator. It remains a dream role for me," he says.

The actor who would be teaming up with Kareena Kapoor in Karan Johar and Ekta Kapoor's joint venture, further adds, "The film, which is an edgy love story, will go on floors at the end of this year. It could be a strange pairing but odd couples are far more sexy, the chemistry between them is more interesting which is why Bollywood is going out of the way to cast such actors together. The Dirty Picture is the best example of this where I was paired opposite Vidya. The audiences' response confirmed that odd couples do create magic," he says.

Irrfan Khan in comedy project

Irfan Khan.

Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana director Sameer Sharma is in the process of scripting a comedy film and wants Irrfan Khan to play the lead. "I am writing two scripts. One is a musical titled Jugalbandi and the other is a mad comedy Jageera via Silomasco. In the second film Jageera is the name of the character and Silomasco is a place in Punjab", Sharma told PTI.

Sharma said he wants to rope in Irrfan Khan for Jageera via Silomasco. "I wish to cast Irrfan Khan for this film. He is on my wish list. I have not pitched the story to him. Once I am done I might do it," he said.
Sharma made his directorial debut with Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana, produced by Anurag Kashyap. The film, having Kunal Kapoor and Huma Qureshi in the lead, did good business at the Box Office. "I have been getting good response from producers after Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana...It feels good," Sharma said, adding he might begin working on any one of the projects by this year if things fall in place.

Ali Zafar made fool on shooting Chashme Baddoor

Ali Zafar.

Pakistani actor-singer Ali Zafar ended up rehearsing just in his boxers, a la John Abraham, while shooting for Chashme Baddoor. He stripped all thanks to a prank played on him by his co-stars Siddharth and Divyendu Sharma. A day before the filming of the song Har ek friend kamina hota hai, Ali was told by his notorious co-stars that director David Dhawan had included a sequence in the song, where Ali would have to strip and be in his boxers only.
When Ali didn't believe it, and spoke to Dhawan about it, the comic director joined into the prank too, and said 'yes'.
Ali was apprehensive and shy, but later gave in and started rehearsing for the same along with Siddharth and Divyendu. During the rehearsals, every time Ali would strip, everyone on the set would start rolling in laughter.
Puzzled by everyone's behaviour, Ali later realised it was all a prank, said a source.
Produced by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures, Chashme Baddoor is a remake of the 1981 film of the same name. The movie hits theatres April 5.

Aamir Khan blames patriarchal mindset for gender inequality

Aamir Khan with British PM David Cameron.
Bollywood actor Aamir Khan, who has been at the forefront of a debate on gender equality, blamed the "patriarchal mindset" of people for the lesser status of women in society.

Aamir, who interacted with students at a girl's college with visiting British Prime Minister David Cameron in New Delhi, said most of the queries from the young women were related to the low status of women in society and how they can best use their education.

"The patriarchal thinking is to blame for the status of women in society. We are all born with it. The feeling that men are superior," he told reporters.
"We have to deal with the problem in a mature manner. We have to stop first the girl child being killed, then we have to bring her at par with facilities there for the male child," he said.

Asked whether he saw movies as a medium to create awareness on the gender issue, he said: "Dealing with patriarchy is not easy. It is a gradual process. You have to win people over through whatever medium you can like -- movies, culture and art".

Khan, who interacted with the students for nearly 30 minutes with Cameron, said the girls had questions on how to get jobs inside and outside the country.

On corruption, he said there was a need to eliminate corruption from amongst ourselves since the society has corruption at all levels.

"Only then we can stop corrupt leaders from being elected," he said.

My first time might be my last: Salman Khan on hosting awards

For a first-time host, Salman Khan seemed to have great fun at the Guild Awards on Saturday. The highlight of the event was his interaction with yesteryear superstar Hema Malini. After inviting her on stage, Salman asked Malini, who is a trained classical dancer, to show off some Bharatanatyam steps. She sportingly obliged and performed in front of the audience, which gave her a thunderous applause and a standing ovation.

Salman Khan.

Keeping the momentum alive, Salman told Malini that the song Hawa Ke Saath Saath (Seeta Aur Geeta; 1972) is his all-time favourite number, and asked if she would dance with him on the song? 'With skates?' asked Hema, to which Salman popped a huge skate-shaped prop. Both he and Hema stood on it and danced while lip-syncing the popular retro tune.
The entire time he was on stage, Salman didn't stop cracking jokes on himself, especially about how nervous he was that evening. "This is my first time as a host, but the way it's going, it might be my last." But those present weren't ready to buy that at all. Lyricist Prasoon Joshi, who came to give away an award, said to a grinning Salman, "You don't seem or act nervous, but nervousness sure seems to be the theme of the evening. You are doing a good job."

In his inimitable style, Salman Khanmade his debut as an awards show host at Renault Star Guild Awards on Saturday. He kept the audience entertained and interacted with the celebrities, including Priyanka Chopra, Vidya Balan and Arjun Kapoor. But it was his interaction with Hema Malini that deserves special mention. Salman revealed how 'Dream Girl' Malini inspired him on many occasions since he was a child.
After inviting her on stage to present an award, Salman admitted to being a huge fan. He seemed shy around her. He said he was present on the sets of her 1972 film, Seeta Aur Geeta, before recalling that in the scene shot that day, Malini wore a shirt, trousers and a scarf, and had a tomboyish look for her part as Geeta.

As Malini blushed, Salman added that she struck a pose in that scene that he went on to adapt in his own body language. He even stepped off stage and sat on a chair to demonstrate what he was talking about, before giving her credit for what is now, his signature posture.

Not under pressure to be visible on big screen: Soha Ali Khan

Soha Ali Khan.

The 34-year-old daughter of Sharmila Tagore made her Bollywood debut with 'Dil Maange More' back in 2004 and went on to star in acclaimed films like 'Rang De Basanti', 'Khoya Khoya Chand', 'Mumbai Meri Jaan' and '99'.

"I understand that it has almost been eight years in the industry and that it is competitive and important to be visible and to work constantly. But I have never felt these pressures. I think it is important to do good work and last longer than to do lot of work and burn out quickly," Soha told in an interview.

In 2011, the actress starred in just one film, 'Soundtrack', after which she was seen playing a pivotal role in Deepa Mehta's 'Midnight's Children'.

"It also depends on what is offered to you and what you like. The idea is to do good work. A film is a part of what I am doing. In 2012, I did a number of things - a comedy film, a dramatic film in terms of shooting and also a fashion based TV show 'What Not To Wear'. There are a number of ways to keep yourself creatively engaged. Working in films is definitely the focus for me and I would like to do it," she said.

Priyanka Chopra turns Badmaash Babli

Priyanka Chopra.

The actress has finally agreed to do her first special song for Sanjay Gupta's film. But only after scanning the lyrics for profanity

Priyanka Chopra has put an end to weeks of speculation over her special song and dance number in Shootout at Wadala. Sources have learnt that the actress recently signed on the dotted line at the film's producer, Ekta Kapoor's house. Once shot, this song would mark PeeCee's debut in the wildly popular but now controversial genre that has seen everyone from Malaika Arora to Kareena Kapoor shimmy for catcalls and wolf whistles.PeeCee is doing a promotional song in Zanjeer, which she top lines, while she has no part in Shootout...

The song has been titled Babli Badmaash Hai - reminds you of a certain Munni? Well..

But the lyrics and the title apparently, had to pass PeeCee's censorship test. The actress had made it very clear that she would not dance to lyrics with double entendre or make suggestive moves.
A source close to the film told, "Three songs were run past her. She finally flipped for Babli Badmaash Hai. The song has been composed by Anu Malik and will be sung by Sunidhi Chauhan.

Ever since shifting base to India and Bollywood, Sunny Leone has consistently found a place in most popularity polls. It's no surprise then, that the adult star is currently the most searchedBollywood celebrity in the world.

In December 2012, she was searched 3.5 crore times, as per cumulative data gathered from Google, YouTube and the Times of India website. Considering her profile, second ranker Katrina Kaif, with 1.6 crore searches should not grudge her this place.

While the ladies do take the cake in this list, Salman Khan is the only male star in the top 5. With his box-office prowess, his charisma and his power to captivate the masses, Salman has successfully captured the imagination of the lowest common denominator. It's obvious then, that everyone wants to know everything about him, bringing his total to a massive 1 crore searches. While the actresses do feature high in the search list, it is the actors who get paid more.
