Famous Perfumes

Polo Blue Ralph Lauren for Men.

This is a typical fresh, aquatic, musky scent. It's very pleasant to smell and wear as it will grab compliments. Starts off with a loud opening with the mandarin and melon being dominant. The oping lasts about 30 minutes on me and then it settles down quickly to an almost skin scent for the remainder of the next hour or so. The cucumber-aquatic sneaks in nicely throughout the mid way portion, leading to the infamous polo basil note which sticks throughout the entire wearing. It remains fresh through the dry-down phase and the woodiness and musk come into play. After 2 hours, it is strictly a skin scent. This fragrance is what I expected it to be... a subtle, fresh, completely inoffensive scent. I wish the projection was slightly stronger and longevit as well. I also ordered the red white and blue, which I hear is just like blue, only a bit more intense. We will see.

8.5/10 for me. Can't go wrong with this one.

Ralph Lauren.

New Ralph Lauren perfume, fourth in Ralph collection aimed for youth, is addressed to independent energetic girl who loves rock. The perfume face is Hannah Davis, and the music which follows it is made by Paolo Nutini. In the cause of perfume promotion the web site is launched and there you can get a detail information about the perfume, Hannah, download Paolo Nutini's music and participate in try-out for rock groups. More details on the site. Perfume can be described as citrus floral cream. The composition begins with kiwi and passion fruit notes. The heart exudes with the mixture of freesia, orange blossom and hyacinth notes together with green palm leaves. In the base there are sun-warm wood and amber. The perfume was created by Annie Buzantian in 2006.

Polo Explorer Ralph Lauren for Men.

Ralph Lauren Polo Explorer is a deep, dark and seductive scent as opposed to a crisp, light outdoor adventurous type scent. For me(my opinion) the problem with Explorer was the branding. From the name to the bottle it promised an outdoor adventure, but what it delivered was a very romantic evening. I think(my opinion only) this is why the scent is now discontinued. Wrong target audience for this bold woody aromatic.

It opens with a bubble gum ultra sweetness that doesn't last long before it shifts to a woody richness that lasts on my skin for a good 6 hours. It seems to get richer and deeper and drier. It has a slight peppery/spicy almost smoky note to it that I really like. Is it the mahogany? I think of the color amethyst and crushed velvet for some reason.

Projection is good, and for me continues to be so even after several wearings. Be careful not to over spray. Two or three sprays are enough.

I recommend Explorer for Fall and Winter evenings. The cooler the better. It's more dressy than casual despite the style of it's bottle. Appropriate for formal occasions as well.

I agree, it probably was the best of Ralph Lauren's fragrances for men. Long after it is gone and impossible to find the multitudes will be yearning for it and declaring how great it WAS.
Givenchy Gentleman.
Givenchy Gentleman by Givenchy is a Woody fragrance for men. Givenchy Gentleman was launched in 1974. The nose behind this fragrance is Paul Leger. Top notes are honey, cinnamon, bergamot, rose, lemon and tarragon; middle notes are patchouli, orris root, jasmine and cedar; base notes are leather, amber, patchouli, musk, oakmoss, vanilla, vetiver and civet.
This heavy resinous classic from the 1970s is one of the greenest patcholi bombs ever. Its somewhat heavy handed in a few areas leaving some distance between it and myself. It is definitive of the 1970s. I love the chypre character, yet its a beast in a guilded cage.

I didnt encounter it until after Giorgio for men. It was the obvious inspiration for the later. Gentleman is much more encryptic. I see Kouros in it more. It was the beginning of the mens powerhouse.

Its darker and more cold than Giogio. I would have to say somewhat more rugged than anything offered later. Its not really a gentleman. Its more of a libertine. Thats it! The low, dirty civet. How could I have missed the obvious? It hides behind every note like a predator, waiting to pounce. Its like its trying to hide its beast within.

Who needs testosterone gel with giants like Gentleman, Anteus and Kouros? Its as if the BIG patcholi was meant to hide the skanky civet. I am finding civet to be a rare moment on my skin lately. I still appreciate it, but yes, it IS animal piss. I salute the boldness, yet wear them infrequently today.

Kouros Yves Saint Laurent for men.

This scent polarizes. You either absolutely love it or hate it.
 There is no in between.

My initial take was, smelt like urinal, moved down to an in your face soap, like someone tried to clean out the urinal. Yes and I agree takes genius to achieve this combo.
The base notes, after about 3 to 4 hours, half way between cat's heat and musky animal. Around this time it's not too bad, but you have to go through murder to get there.
This is one you don't forget.Update :

When I first tried K. I absolutely hated it. Now after 14 hours, having slept on it, its still around (a feat in itself) , I'm not so sure. And now smells good ! Go figure. What a journey, exhausting. So I can't say I hate this anymore. Would caution to use it sparingly.

Zino Davidoff.

Zino Davidoff was created in 1988 as a classical male perfume, uncompromisingly masculine. Its elegant floral heart is surrounded by masculine components. It starts of stingingly fresh with lavender, palisander, clary sage and bergamot at the top. The heart is composed as an elegant floral bouquet of geranium, rose, lily-of-the-valley and jasmine. Warm and manly components lock the composition down: patchouli, cedar wood and sandalwood, along with a tender touch of vanilla. The fragrance is named after the founder of the brand.

Dreamer Versace for men.

You cannot wear this perfume and be a Dreamer because the constant compliments that comes from those around you will keep you always wake!Even without will the word romantic come first into your mind when you smell this, along with unique, bold(really for men?!)and warm! The initial spray does seem a little violent, hard, heavy, cloying and other synonyms terms i've heard or read on reviews, but after that the magic night begins!I find this as my youngish alternative night scent when Ysl La nuit de l'homme doesn't quite fit!Longevity and projection are average-high on my skin!A+ monsieur Jean-Pierre Bethouart, what a scent!
1 Million Paco Rabanne for Men.

This is a uniquely scented cologne. In my opinion, there are few colognes that have this distinction.

When I say distinct, I'm referring to fragrances such as Polo, Obsession and Old Spice. If you're wearing it, people can pick out the scent very easily. To some degree, you could add Gio to this category as well, simply because it's so popular.

1 million belongs in the "unique" category, which is part of the reason I bought it.

To me, nothing else smells quite like it. Regardless of what they post as the ingredients, it has a smooth, dark cherry smell with tobacco and mint undertones.

It's very radiant and has tremendous staying power, so go easy with it, guys.

Once, I had a woman tell me that guys don't know how to put on cologne; and that if you can smell it on yourself, it's too strong. I'm not sure if that holds up in every case but in this one, I'd have to agree.

Black XS Paco Rabanne for men.

I love Black xs , and this was my first cologne and someday i ll buy it again cos now it is very popular..i always get compliments when wearing this beautiful scent...this has great power , honestly this is how any fragrance should last and project..it lasts and lasts on my skin : 12h+ , it projects for 10hrs and it leaves a long scent trail..3 / 4 sprays are enough and you are ready.. BLACK XS ==> Smell good all the day :)

Bond. James Bond L'Homme A.B.R. Barlach for men.

Armani Attitude Giorgio Armani for men.

Well, well this perfume is made to sell!
From its opening to its drydown smells nice and pretends to be interesting, it really shows its creators are somehow clever (if not "sly" in a good way) guys.
It is luminous and vibrant, I understand many teenagers will like it. If you happen to know the Pet Shop Boys song called "NYC Boy" well, "Armani Attitude" is that boy's fragrance! ;-)
It carries a very glossy, trasparent and luxurious quality ("without much soul though" as someone before, rightly pointed out) that gives me the impression it should be called "Diamonds" rather than "Attitude".
In the world of perfumery this is a perfect example of what I (shamelessly) call, "a fragrance firework".

Aqva Pour Homme Bvlgari for men.

This aromatic aquatic fragrance gives men energy and refreshment with its marine notes. Aqva Pour Homme starts with fresh aromas of petit grain and citruses. The heart of the fragrance features Posidonia Oceanica seaweed. The base is extremely masculine due to mineral amber and woody notes.
Top Notes: mandarin, orange and petit grain. Heart: Santolina lavender, cotton and Posidonia sea weed. Base: mineral amber, woody notes and clary sage.
Available as 50 and 100 ml EDT. Made in 2005.
The nose behind this fragrance is Jacques Cavallier.

Cherry in the Air Escada for women.

Absolutely amazing frag. So thick scent. Opening is full of cherries and then the Marshmallow is coming. It is not childly sweet. Feminine and grownup smell. Playful but I can also see it in the office. It is not very woody. I think the woody note is there only for the longevity of the smell. Sandalwood is not very noticeable. Surprised me in a very good way.
