Top most favorite Hair Styles of 2011-12

BETTY GRABLE – Betty Grable's pin-up status was further enhanced by her distinctive "victory rolls" hairstyle, in her natural blonde.

URSULA ANDRESS – In her famous scene in the James Bond film Dr. No, Ursula Andress' slicked-back hair was not dissimilar from the wet-look styles seen on the spring/summer 2012 catwalks.

VICTORIA BECKHAM – It's Victoria again, this time with her memorable short pixie crop, worn around the same time as the Beckhams' matching leather outfits.

JEAN SHRIMPTON – With her glossy, long hair and sweeping side fringe, Jean Shrimpton was the antithesis of the Sixties' boyish models with their gamine crops.

NICKI MINAJ – Her hairstyles are in fact ever-changing, but Nicki Minaj's rainbow dip-dye sets her apart from the rest of the coloured hair crowd.

CHRISTIE BRINKLEY – The California-raised model's big blonde hair made her the perfect American poster girl.

MARY PICKFORD – Silent movie star Mary Pickford was renowned for her pretty, neat curls.

JULIA ROBERTS – As soon as Roberts unveiled those voluminous auburn curls from beneath her blonde wig in Pretty Woman, we knew she was sure to be a star.

QUEEN ELIZABETH II – Thanks to her personal hairdresser, Ian Carmichael, the Queen's neat set curls are a British institution in their own right.

AMELIE – The eponymous character of French film Amelie, played by Audrey Tautou, has a distinctive charm thanks to her brunette bob and short fringe.

SIOUXSIE SIOUX – The singer's back-combed black hair was the epitome of Goth style in the Eighties.

SIENNA MILLER – Relaxed blonde waves were the perfect accompaniment to Sienna's famously bohemian fashion choices in the mid-Noughties, and have stayed with her ever since.

LADY GAGA – Platinum blonde and poker-straight, Lady Gaga's hair has been twisted and teased into more styles that most of us could manage in a lifetime. However this quirky hair bow was one of her most memorable looks.

DAPHNE GUINNESS – Usually piled into an up-do, Daphne Guinness' two-tone black and white hair perfectly complements her eclectic style choices.

TILDA SWINTON – The actress' severe strawberry blonde undercut epitomises her offbeat elegance.
