Omayr Waqar - Make Up Artist

Omayr Waqar.

I met a young lad some 2/3 years ago. He was sleek, fair complex, pointed nose, high cheek bones, hair causally brushed and was making lots of jokes ( just to create friendly atmosphere ). He would smile most of the time, more than what a normal human beings do while in general talk. And I was observing him very deeply.

I asked him one simple question to confirm my thoughts. " Do you want to open an advertising agency"?

"I was on a shoot and was staying in a guest house arranged by the my company. And he was supposed to share the room on courtesy note. Before that i didn't know him. Andd since it was too late i was told that this guy had an early call time and would leave in 3/4 hours. And I was like okay "understandable". And I believe one should not disturb the Flow of Nature. 

He was kind of surprised to my question. But concealed and answered nothing but a smilie and avoiding eye contact that I might not read his thoughts. That day he didnt tell me. But I knew he had something big in his mind.

On occasions, conversations, discussions and random talk i always knew his whereabouts. ( That's the habit of mine to pay attention whatever comes in my way.) 

He started doing small shoots, was seen in parties, networking, developing contacts. Then one day i heard he had gone to attend some hair and make up related institute. 

Another Six months went by, the guy didnt stop his walk. And had been working all time.

Later some time i saw his logo somewhere, this chap had made his logo ... I was happy to see him achieving his goals, growing and making his name in the make up artists industry. 

This guy is Omayr Waqar.

I interviewed him only because I wanted people to know this guy not by his cute smily face, but by his undaunted and never tiring resilience to achieve his dreams. And to take inspiration out of his life endeavor.  It was indeed "Slow but steady" walk.

- Makeup Artist & Hairstylist

What is your motto in life ?

Make a good and respectable name as a Makeup and Hair guy in this industry.

Favorite brand ?

- Don't really care about brands. I buy anything I like.

Your ideal personality ? Or someone who has instinctively become your source of inspiration?

- Jonathan Dadoun, who is a celebrity Hairstylist in Paris, has been my source of inspiation. I really like his work.

What is love to to you ?

- Love is just another word for close relation.

Given a situation, Devil or the deep sea, which one would you choose ?

- Devil

What message would you like to give to your competitors/ opponents ?

- Most of them are my seniors so I really repect and admire their work. And for those who are new, I really like what they do and I wish them luck.

When are you getting married ?

- When I earn well enough to raise a happy family.

You comments over current Karachi situation ?

- I just hope this situation gets better.

Do you ever lie ?

- Only when it's needed, so Yes I do.

What's your favorite food ?

- I love kari chawal.

Your favorite outfit ?

- People tell me I look really nice in Shalwar Kameez.

What kind of people annoy you ?

- Name droppers.

How do you react when angry ?

- I tell everyone to get out of my life and leave me alone, but then I am back to normal in 10 minutes.

Any message to your clients/lovers/fans ?

- All I want to say is, follow your dreams, don't do what others want you to do. If you have passion in something, go for it, don't waste your life doing what people tell you to do, or else you'll never have a happy life.
