Rani Mukerji,s "Bombay Talkies" shooting starts

Bombay Talkies shooting.

It was only the other day that TOI reported about the fracas on location Karan Johar's segment for Bombay Talkies starring Rani Mukerji and Randeep Hooda.

Karan, who does not usually shoot on the streets in the country, was literally mobbed by the enthusiastic crowd, forcing him to stall shooting for a while. This time however, he looked more in his elements, as he directed his actors in a Bandra bungalow. Rani and Randeep, working together for the first time, play a married couple in the film. The other actor that you can see in the frame is Saket, a newcomer.

According to a source, the sequence involved Saket engaging Rani and Randeep in a conversation. "But Saket needed several takes, and Rani had to keep eating the pasta that had been served at the table. At the end of it, she mock complained about stuffing herself with all the fattening food."

Incidentally, on Karan's left, in a black shirt, is Boman Irani's sonKayoze, who had made his acting debut in Student of The Year. The young lad is assisting Karan in the Bombay Talkies project, which also features segments by Anurag KashyapZoya Akhtar and Dibakar Banerjee. Bombay Talkies will release on May 3, the day the first Indian film Raja Harishchandra was released 100 years ago.
